Safe settings on your smartphone
You can take various measures for setting your smartphone or tablet as safely as possible. By doing so, you reduce the privacy risks.

Settings by app
You can set the access to the data on your smartphone or tablet for each separate app. Consider, for example, whether you want to have the location data and address details enabled at all times. Or only when you use a specific app.
Consider carefully which conditions you accept and which permissions the app is requesting. Do not click on ‘accept’ without due consideration. For example: a torch app does not need your contact details or location.
Does you refuse to give an app access to certain data? Then you will disable only a small part of its functionality as a result of this refusal. You can always enable the access again if this is really necessary.
Access and storage security
Set a PIN code, password or pattern to protect your smartphone or tablet better against unauthorised access.
Encrypt the storage of data on your smartphone or tablet. On most smartphones or tablets, this can be done through a button in the installation menu. If your smartphone or tablet is stolen, your data will not be readable.
Regular updates
Make sure that you always have the latest version of the software. You do this by updating your smartphone or tablet regularly. Often, these updates contain protection against new security problems.
Also do this for the apps you have installed. Most apps enable to you choose to have updates installed automatically. And de-install apps that you have not used for a while
