Ransomware report
This first ransomware report from the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Dutch DPA) shows that there were more ransomware attacks in the Netherlands in 2023 than was previously widely known.
Over all of 2023, the Dutch DPA counts at least 178 successful attacks. Because one attack often affects several organizations at once, the total number of organizations affected runs into the hundreds. Personal data of millions of people in the Netherlands were affected.
