Aleid Wolfsen, chair
Aleid Wolfsen was appointed chair of the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Dutch DPA) in 2016. He had previously been a member of the Dutch DPA’s advisory board. Prior to his appointment as Dutch DPA chair, Mr Wolfsen held various positions in politics and the judiciary.

Outside activities
Aleid Wolfsen works for the Dutch DPA 3.5 days a week. In addition he holds the following outside positions:
- Member of the Advisory Board of the Netherlands Institute for Human Rights (an outside position always held by the chair of the DPA, by virtue of their office)
- Chair of the Supervisory Board of the Utrechtzorg healthcare career centre
- Arbitrator at the Arbitration Board for the Building Industry
- Member of the Supervisory Board of the Operamakers Foundation
- Chair of the Supervisory and Advisory Board of the Institute for Asbestos Victims
In his role as chair of the Dutch DPA, Mr Wolfsen has no involvement in investigations and/or decisions with regard to the organisations listed above.
