International cooperation

The processing of personal data does not stop at the Dutch border. This is why the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Dutch DPA) cooperates intensively with partners within and outside Europe. For example, by exchanging knowledge or concluding a cooperation agreement.

In addition, the Dutch DPA cooperates in permanent committees for coordinated supervision of the police, judicial authorities and border control. The Dutch DPA participates on behalf of the Netherlands in the supervision of Europol, Eurojust and EPPO and of European information systems.

The Dutch DPA mainly cooperates within Europe. But outside Europe as well, the Dutch DPA cooperates with data protection supervisory authorities from other countries.
