Model letter for mediation by the Dutch DPA
Did you make a request for access, rectification or removal of your personal data to the police, an organisation for special investigations or a judicial organisation? And was your request refused? Then you can ask the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Dutch DPA) to mediate or advise. You can use this example letter for this purpose.
In some cases, the police, organisation for special investigations or judicial organisation is allowed to refuse your request in order to protect other people, such as witnesses or informers, or if granting your request would have adverse consequences for the investigation or prosecution of criminal offences.
Do you disagree with the refusal of your request? Then you can ask the Dutch DPA to mediate or advise.
